Frequently Asked Questions

  • What counts as a dental emergency?

    • A toothache
    • Facial pain with fever
    • Broken, knocked out or chipped teeth
    • Broken dentures
    • Soft tissue trauma & bleeding
  • What are your opening hours?

    We are open 7 days a week. Monday to Saturday 9:00am - 6:00pm and Sundays 9:00am - 5:00pm.

  • If I have a dental emergency, how long before you can fit me in?

We will see you on the same day. We always allow spare appointments throughout the day in case of emergencies. Simply call our clinic at 0449 262 768.

  • How often should I have routine dental check-ups?

Every 6 months, unless instructed otherwise by your dental surgeon or hygienist.

  • Do I really need to have dental x-rays?

You wouldn’t let a surgeon operate without taking scans, dental surgery is no different. We can’t see what’s going on under the surface of your mouth without x-rays.

  • What are my payment options?

Eftpos and direct claims on health funds are available (HICAPS).

  • I've had a permanent tooth knocked out.

If you still have the tooth, it may be able to be saved. Contact us immediately for instructions and an emergency appointment.

  • What is dry socket?

Dry socket is caused by dislodging a blood clot (usually after a tooth extraction). Irritation can be caused by food or tobacco smoke. Any severe pain which shoots to your ear should be investigated immediately.

  • What can be done to treat dry socket?

Dry socket may require antibiotics and a special medicated dressing. If you suspect you may be experiencing symptoms, contact us immediately.

  • What is Zoom whitening?

Zoom whitening is the fast way to get your teeth brighter looking than any toothpaste or a doit yourself kit. Get instant results up to 8 shades whiter in less than an hour in the dental chair.

  • Are dental implants expensive?

Yes, but the results are worth it. Essentially, it’s like getting your own teeth back. No need to worry about getting dentures relined or foods you can’t chew.

  • Are implants right for me?

Visit our clinic to discuss your implant options. Sometimes, if you have a receding jawbone, you may require a bone graft to build your jaw to support the implants, and it can be a long process. There are alternative avenues we can explore if you require a bone graft but don’t want to undergo surgery.

  • Can I eat before my dentist appointment?

Not if you are planning to have IV sedation. We recommend nil by mouth for 6 hours prior to undergoing dental surgery.
